Prayer for Deliverance – For the first time in 12 years, Greg didn’t convulse in 72 hours. He sat on his bed, hands on his head, and with a loud song of worship, he sang in gratitude to his creator.

What Prayer For Deliverance is All About
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him and saying,
Lord have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick , and sore vexed: for oftimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him
Then Jesus answered and said, o faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me
And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
Matthew 17:14-17
One of the first things you’d notice is that many people need deliverance in the multitude. Even today, it is so. You reading this now, is very likely in dire need of a mighty deliverance in your life. However, the truth remains that the right person to meet, the only person to come to is Jesus.
1. “…there came to him a certain man, kneeling to him and saying,”
And surely, Jesus can identify you for who you are and what your need is. The man was a certain man. Although there was a multitude there, the man was distinct from the others.
Although a gazillion people are reading this from all over the world now, you are distinct before God whom you have sought here at VOGIM Deliverance Ministries.
Here, Jesus will be dealing with a certain you and your specific deliverance needs, certainly. Yet, another thing you’d notice about this man is that he came “…kneeling to him and saying,”
Now that you are here the smartest thing is to humble yourself, submit to the Lordship of Jesus, and ask Him to help you as he did this man. And he will remember you and send help to you.

2. “Lord have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic and sore vexed: for oftentimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.”

Although his son is a lunatic i.e. is mad, he didn’t say his son is unstable. He said it just as it is. Again, you’d notice that the son is not just a lunatic, he is “sore vexed!”

You have to say it as it is. If what is putting you in bondage is casting you into the fire. The bondage will cast you into the fire, and the goal is to see that your life is burnt and wasted so that you are eliminated and gone. It wants to destroy you.
But God has better plans for your life and will not let you be burnt or wasted. You must allow God to help you. That bondage will cast you also into the water, and the goal is to sink you to make sure that no matter where or whatever you accomplish, you sink and suffer. That your resources, your health, your relationships, and all be swallowed up.
Thus, you mustn’t be satisfied until you are delivered from bondage if you don’t want to be emptied and made a nonentity because of this bondage that the name of Jesus can settle once and for all once we pray for you. Now, you must not that if you don’t arise now to be free from your bondage, the spirit behind it, will not let you go.
That spirit will keep throwing you again and again and again like it was throwing the woman with the issue of blood here and there for 18 years. She kept running here and there… all her money was spent, running to the wrong people. Wrong physicians, all of them collected her money as several people have collected your own money.
In the same vein, this man took the case of his bondage to the wrong people.
3. “And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him”
And of a truth, not all have the grace to cure you of your bondage. You need a cure, not just prayers. You’d notice the man didn’t say “They couldn’t pray for him”…many can pray a prayer for deliverance, but not many can cure!

Why You Should Seek Prayer For Deliverance
A. “Then Jesus answered and said, o faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me”
One thing you should note is Jesus’ willingness to get you delivered. Our Lord Jesus Christ is both willing and ready to set you free from every bondage whatsoever. He’s touched. He knows what to be under bondage. He drank from the cup of bondage in the garden of Gethsemane and even first-hand on the cross and the grave. Also, he knows what it means to be delivered because God didn’t leave his soul in hell or suffer for him to see corruption, so He raised him from the dead.
Now, what this means is that Jesus is willing to do to you the same thing God did to Him. And because of his willingness, you must come to him and come boldly… Also, even though we’d be praying for you to get your deliverance, it is Jesus in us that you are coming to meet. You mustn’t come fearfully. Rather, come boldly to Him
If you come fearfully, he can identify it and the prayer for deliverance may not be answered because of your unbelief. Even for that man, one of the reasons his son wasn’t cured was because of his unbelief. However, the moment his unbelief was settled and his faith in Jesus was restored, his deliverance came. Your deliverance will come in the name of Jesus! Amen!
